All of My Dataset (2020-2021)

How we as a culture consume images in the era of social media is vastly different than how we did even ten years ago. Endless scrolling and consuming has changed how the masses see photography as it becomes more accessible with new technology and platforms. How we interact with images is different in this era because the majority of the population is exposed to photography through mass consumption via social media.

I’ve always viewed exploring new experimental options as a valid form of photography and image making as a core part of who I am as an artist; so what better way to review my archive than this? Analogue practices are becoming less and less common as new technology is created and becoming more accessible than the traditional image making processes. I set out to learn new skills by branching out to the latest tech that I had become aware of: AI Image Processing. Using an open source AI I uploaded my entire artistic archive to be processed and analyzed to receive what would be an amalgamation of what I make.

All of my Dataset is an exploration in experimental image making via AI and the rise of digital media in the post internet age. Using both film, sound, and images, the series shows the great depths of range of what can be made using coding and machinery.
